Blackburn Mountain Bike Mirror Review

Bought one of these locally to try it out and paid full price, after my kids complained their handlebar mount mirrors on their new bikes were obscured by their body and did not give a clear view.

After trying out the Blackburn on several bike rides to see how it performed, I ordered 4 more for my kids and spouse to use on their bikes. Everyone actually tried out the first one and liked it. Depending on your grip, our bikes have ergo type, it should be secure.

I tried it on a pavement ride and a bumpy off road trail and the mirror stayed in position for the most part. Instead of putting a hole in my grip this strap on with velcro worked out fine. I remove it when off the bike. It is also useful to take on a trip if you rent bikes.

I had a handle bar mount Mirrycle on the grip end on my former bike and it broke when the bike got knocked over while unattended. It was too costly to continually replace the parts as the Mirrycle is glass.

Also the view is wide like a US auto's righthand side mirror and you can watch you kids behind you as well as the approaching traffic.

Don't waste your money on standard bike mirrors as they are really useless and don't give a good view. A wide view mirror works best mounted on your grip end, whether permanent or removable as is this Blackburn.

I ordered the 1/2" axle threading, and logically thought Amazon was selling these pedals as a PAIR....well, my order arrived with only the LEFT pedal, (torn/crumbled plastic packing job, dirt debris on the pedal, and bearings felt seized!!!). I called and Amazon sent a replacement, which again was only a LEFT pedal....I now have a COMPLETELY USELESS set of LEFT PEDALS!!! (left and right have reverse/opposite threading, i.e. cannot use two left pedals)

I am wondering how or why anyone would sell a SINGLE PEDAL???!!! Every bike shop I've ever shopped at only sells PAIRS of pedals, just like pairs of socks, and pairs of shoes, two feet=PAIR....what logic is there in selling only one pedal, (and the description makes no specification/choice if it is a left or right threaded pedal)???

I use Bebop pedals with Mountain bike and road shoes and use them commuting by bike and bus so I end up walking short distances. The cleat is low and I can walk normally with the mountain bike shoe. The low cleat the pedal allow a little lower saddle height. For road cycling you want a very stiff sole because of the small pedal surface area to spread the force out. The cleats lasted about 5 years before I wore them out. Some people have had problems pulling out of the cleat but I only had that problem when my cleats were very worn.

Yosemite Bicycles Executive 1/2 Watt Bicycle Headlight and Taillight Set Review

These lights are nice. The front headlight is very bright, and has 2 clear lenses on the side to allow others to see you easily. It also has a pin hole in the bottom that allows you to see directly in front of you or your front tire. The rear light can either be solid red, or flash a pattern that ends in bright flashes. No one has any excuse for not seeing you with these on. Mounting worked fine, with several thicknesses of rubber included for fitting to the bike. The lights both have tabs that allow them to be easily detached or mounted. Light and very good, highly recommend. Seller is also great to do business with.
