I live in Cleveland, so it's not a huge city and most of the criminal aspect is made up of run of the mill junkies, not professional bike thieves. I really love my bike though, and wanted to protect it - so far so good with this lock. It is of a good size weight and I like the combination aspect as I guarantee I would lose the key.
Would I leave my bike overnight on a busy street in a bad neighborhood with this lock on? Well, no - but I wouldn't do that anyway. Would I trust this lock to take my bike safely through a long afternoon of brunch or a night out at the bars? I most definitely would. This is going to more than deter the average opportunist type jerk who might steal a bike.

***One thing - mine did not come with instructions as to how to change the pin for the lock, but a quick google search led me to some instructions.
