I installed one of these on an old hardtail crossover bike that I wanted to use as a commuter . By commuter, I mean a POS that I could leave chained to a light post at the park-n-ride all day....no place for any kind of expensive bike components to be left without supervision, unless you plan on donating them to the nearest pawn shop.

This post, when installed and set up properly , takes some of the harsh jolts out of a rigid framed bike . Don't expect to float on a springy cushion of comfort, but for about $20 , it's a good value and does make a noticeable difference. Read the instructions....if you clamp this down too tight, it will not function as a suspension item .
