Well, perhaps you get what you pay for. I can say that in the dark, I can see my front tire really well! The light on this is fairly dim, it floods about 10 feet in a semi-circle in front of you. It is my first bike light so I can't compare to others, but I'm going to need another front light with a longer beam in order to properly see the road in front of me.

The mounting is alright, but it's twist on/off feature is almost as disappointing as the lack of power on the light. It rotates on/off but doesn't really snap/clip into place, and a slight sideways bump can knock it off easily. I'm using a Velcro strap to make sure it doesn't come off from any accidental bumps.
