It seemed a little extravagant to me to spend over a hundred bucks on a rack, but this thing is so solid it is like it is part of your bike instead of an accessory. I've had it a year and I have used it everyday about 10-20 miles with varying weight loads, for a total of about 5000 miles, and it is pretty much as good as new. The paint does wear away where the panniers rub against it, but this is easy to touch up. I have bought my share of bike stuff which I haven't used much and now seems like a waste of money, but this I use everyday and I don't know how I lived without it.
