My bike had 30 year old single pivot dia-comp brakes up front as the only brakes on the bike. The stopping power was pretty minimal, and I was always proactively braking "just in case" because of it.

I bought this caliper, and the difference is night and day. The dual pivot design is noticeably better, and the stopping power is remarkable. I almost skidded my front tire today going pretty fast. There is an adjustment screw to help fine tune the pads also, which makes brake adjustments a breeze.

I had to use a drill to bore out the mounting holes on my bike, through the fork, to get this to mount up. I also needed some of the washers from the previous assembly.

I'm happy with this brake.
