Michelin Pro Optimum Front Tire (Black, 700c x 25-mm) Review
I blew through my first set of stock Giant tires, the rear tire started flattening out after about 1000 miles. I'm a 'Clydesdale' rider, 250+lbs, and have to run my tires at max pressure. That means 1) I feel every single bump in the road, 2) things get scary/skittish going downhill on rough pavement, 3) and tires wear out faster. After researching extensively online I decided I needed 25c tires. I ended up with these as Michelin rates them as their most durable/long lasting tread. Hoping for some decent flat protection. Several people I ride with swear by Michelins in general, so I bought these. So far, about 200 miles in, I'm completely happy. They certainly roll easier than my last set of 23c tires, much smoother, and much better traction. I feel much more in control at 25+MPH going downhill. I bought the front tire here, couldn't find the rear on Prime, so bought the rear at my LBS.
