Shimano has gutted their mid to high end range of square taper bottom brackets. A real shame because there are no other options for very high quality at that price point. Now you can either spend a fortune on certain manufacturer's offerings, or go dirt cheap, which if you still run square taper as I do, you probably want to go that way. This seems as good as you're going to find on budget products, with nearly the lowest cost of them all. The seals are good enough to keep out crud for a good long while, the bearings are smooth and the adjustable cup is metal. What more can you want? It's not very light, but you're probably not putting a cheap square taper bb in a racing bike, are you? This went on my rigid 1995 cannondale m900 and has performed flawlessly for 6 months.
