This bike is built extremely well for a child's bike. All of the pieces seem to be quality construction, and it is very comfortable for my 5-year-old daughter (49" tall). It's also very cute and somewhat retro-looking, and she really enjoys riding it. That being said, the instructions for assembly are quite lacking. Fortunately, my husband has disassembled several bikes in the past, so he figured it out (but it probably took longer than it should have with some better instructions). If you're inexperienced with bike assembly, you may find yourself frustrated and/or hiring someone to do it for you.

For it's price I cannot complain yet that's not to say it's a bad tyre. I run a set, SR740/741 on my GS500 at 34/38 PSI. The last lasted for about 8.5K miles, in the wet they are confident and slippery when pushed hard in corners - on hot days; overall, I can't fault the tyres' short comings as I do run it at higher pressures for commuting. Additionally the warm up time may be incredibly slow - miles - on cold days. I'll buy a Shinko again and I'll buy the same for the rest of ownership. I don't race, I commute and I ride about 10K miles a year.

Kenda K184 Urban Tire - 700c x 32, Wire Bead, Black Review

This is a well-built tough blackwall tire with an all-weather tread that will roll nicely in good weather too.
It's adverstised at 32 mm width, which is 1 1/4", but it measures out at 1 inch wide mounted. I have it mounted on a 3/4" wide rim. The mounting was not difficult but I went slowly and inflated a little at a time- a couple of inches didn't seat at first, so I deflated a little, pushed that in, and then it inflated and set just fine.

It's not as wide as a 27 x 1 1/4 tire, if you are familiar with the old standard that came on a bike like a Schwinn Varsity. Road clinchers often measure an 1/8" more narrow than they are labled- a 1 1/4" tire usually actually measures 1 1/8 inch across. A 1 3/8" tire then actually measures 1 1/4", a 1 1/8" measures 1" and so on, and it seems to carry through as a rule on 700C's as well But I've seen different tires from different makers actually measure the same while labled 1/4" different on the sides. I think the metric equivlent here should actually be labled 28mm, or even 25mm. The 700C rim is slightly smaller than the 27" rim, so the profile height of the tire is less too.

This tire is actually 1 inch across- I think the photo is actually a wider tire- so if you want a width like that, ORDER WIDER. I have the next size, 35 mm in a Kenda tire on the way, and I'll review that. I think it will go on the rim- (this information needs clarifying here, what width tire will fit what width rims One can make an educated guess from the tube sizes, but often 700 and 27" tubes are mixed and used for both ) But the descrepencies in 700C tire width between makers, and the general "1/8" less than labled rule" are annoying, especially when ordering on the net, and running delivery people around.

Here's the metric equilvalents, starting at 1 inch = 25.4mm
1 1/8"= 28mm
1 1/4"= 32mm
1 3/8"= 35mm
1 1/2"= 38mm

in other words, an 1/8" is about 3mm

but then remember: MOST of the tires will actually measure 1/8" under the labled size-
though this one measures a full 1/4" under 32mm, or 1 inch wide

Filzer Chain Tool 4 (CT-4) Review

I used to have a sub-$10 chain tool but it was hell to use and finally its rod was bent while I was using it. I had to get another tool but I did not want to invest in a professional tool since I do not break chains on a daily basis. Although I had concerns about this tool I decided to try it anyway. Upon opening the package I was again concerned because I saw that the handle is made of plastic. My concerns were allayed upon actually using the tool to push out a pin. The twisting action was so smooth compared to my cheaper tool and pushing out a pin was nearly effortless. It was quite a revelation that breaking a chain did not have to be so torturous. I have no reservations with recommending this tool.

Item arrived in original manufacturer's box which is terrible for shipping as there was no bubble wrap and only carboard for protection. many of the steel tubing was exposed and against each other in box. This is my only negative. The product was easy to put together and very sturdy when all complete with no wobble. The pads on the arms that the bike frame rests on can be slid inward or outward depending on how you would like the bike to sit (closer to the wall or further away). Arms are easily adjusted up and down via twisting of the knobs. This gravity bike stand really utilizes the top part well to perch the upper bike at the highest possible height. Many other gravity bike stand types curve around at the top, not allowing the arms to slide all the way up due to the bend. Also, love that this stand has a stabilizer bar at the base which prevents the stand from falling away from the wall. It takes up little space and gives a peace a mind since it is placed in a garage where temperature changes fluctauate throughout the year. Unlike the floor-to-ceiling types (the type I was determined to get) where many have said there stands have fallen over due to expanding and contracting of their garage celing through the seasons. VERY pleased with the design - well worth all the research done!

Revell 1:32 '07 Shelby Gt500 Review

I bought this for my 9-year-old nephew for Christmas, and though it is nice and I would buy it again, it's not as nice as I thought it was going to be. I bought it for him because he's really good with building things - he can put lego sets together in a matter of minutes, so I thought I'd buy him something a little more complicated. Well, it turns out this model consists of about 12, maybe 15 pieces that all snap together no problem. It's nice once you've got it together - it even rolls so you can play with it, but it's not difficult at all. Took my nephew all of about 15 minutes to put together. I realize it's a level 1 model, but I admit I was a little disappointed at how simple it really was.

Other than that, though, it's pretty neat. I do like it, and would recommend it - but if you're looking for something even a little complex, this isn't it. :)

Shock Doctor Nano 3D Lower Mouthguard (Transparent Blue, Adult) Review

I use this as a night bite-guard. I am very hard on dental appliances and need to replace them often. This one has lasted about 8 months, which is VERY long for me. I think that is because of the low profile fit - not as many edges to wear down with biting. It is very comfortable and much less obtrusive than most. The fitting process was easier and less messy than some others I have tried. In regard to the other review, this fits me perfectly, but I do have a small adult sized mouth. Remember, it does not need to cover all of the tooth surfaces - just prevent any tooth-on-tooth impact. That said, it covers all of my teeth.
