Michelin World Tour 27x1-1/4 Tire Black/Tan Steel Bead Review
I've put ~1800 miles on a set of gumwall 27 x 1 1/4 World Tour tires, and now they're pretty thin in the tread, so this isn't a long-lasting tire. I have had sidewall cuts as well as treat punctures. I just had a side blowout as the wire bead is tearing away from the sidewall, permitting the tube to pinch at the rim wall. I've patched, booted, and sweated these tires on my touring bike, and it's time to go. Are they okay tires and do they look old school with the gumwall? Yes. Are they durable? Definitely not. Are they worth the $10-$15 per tire (depending on sale prices)? Probably for most folks.I'm moving on to a tougher tire for the next set, though.
