I have a 'nice' road bike and did not want to install a bell on the handlebar. Also, I need the bell only occasionally when I ride on multi-use trails. The SRAM bell has a clever mounting system - you attach it on to the steerer between the stem and the top cap. You may need to remove a small spacer on top to accomodate the bell's mounting ring. The SRAM Bell can be installed / uninstalled in 30 seconds and does not take up valuable handlebar space. It is not the loudest bell, but it works pretty well.
