Vittoria Randonneur 700 x 25c Black Review
These are great tires for the price. Living in a desert region with numerous amounts of thorns and spiky goatheads, I needed a stronger tire that would hold against the crappy roads. I looked into the Armadillo and Gatorskin tires but for 40 dollars a tire they were a bit out of range. Looking further, I found these. So far, I've put in about 100 miles or so commuting with them for a week and they have held up greatly. Once I even saw three goatheads stuck in the tires and was saddened but pulled them clean out and suprisingly, my inner tubes were undamaged and didn't puncture.Like another reviewer posted, I also find the tires to be pretty good for skidding on a fixed gear. Although you can't see clearly in the picture, the tires have slight tread on them. More than your average road tire but probably not defined enough to qualifiy them as "dirt" tires. Overall, I highly recommend these for their strength and price. The only downside to these are probably that they are slightly heavier than other road tires but they will make barely a difference unless you're riding a full carbon track bike or somebody who is concerned about the weight of their bicycle.
