The bike is great. BUT, you are screwed if anything goes wrong with it.

The Strida has very unique parts and therefore if even a small part breaks (in my case a small metal washer) you need to find a bike shop that is an official repair center in order for your warranty to be applied.

Living in NYC, this wasn't too big a problem for me, though it undoubtedly will be for people outside of a major city. My issue was waiting nearly 4 months for Strida to ship my local bike shop the necessary part. Adding insult to injury, they refused to cover the mechanic's fee (in this case, $70 dollars). So I lost out on riding the bike for the entire spring and had to eat a $70 dollar repair fee due to a tiny piece of metal coming loose.

Strida is owned by a Taiwanese company called Ming Cycle. The only way to get in touch with someone about repairs is to email Ming Cycle. Guess what- they don't respond to emails!

Bottom line, I can't recommend this bike to anyone, despite how much I enjoy riding it. If you are looking for a quality folding bike, I recommend a Dahon or Brompton because getting those repaired won't be an issue for your local bike shop.
