I bought this tire for a restoration project on a 1975 Schwinn Bantam for my son. It arrived quickly, but...This tire is sold with Sunlite tag and Kenda markings on the tire, (meaning cheng-shin?) and while it is nominally the right size for a schwinn S-7 20 x 1 3/4 tire, it refuses to seat correctly on the rim. I once owned a bicycle shop and have restored over 1000 vintage bikes. Meaning, 1: I should have known better, and 2: I am fairly competent at putting tires on bicycle wheels.
Tires like these are made of weak materials, and are undersized to allow inflation to proper pressure. This leaves a section of the tire always depressed, making the wheel effectively very untrue. In my experience tires such as this are also prone to blowout under the max pressure.
I just spent 45 minutes trying to seat this tire using every trick in the book (soapy water on rim, partial inflation and re-seating, prying low section with special tool. Nothing works!
Bottom line, spend the money on a new old stock tire that is strong and actually fits.
