The bike came semi-assembled which was expected. What was not expected was that the tubes in the tires were bad and ruined the tires when they blistered trying to inflate them. Both front and rear tires had to be replaced after the sidewalls were split from deformities of the tubes. My guess is that they had sat for a VERY long time before I purchased them. The bike is actually pretty nice and since adding good tubes and new tires my wife likes it.
