This is the perfect ankle bike light. I bought two (the price is for just one light) to replace some different ankle lights that my husband (who commutes 15 miles a day in the dark on his bicycle) destroyed in a year and which ate batteries at an amazing rate. These Pedalite ankle lights work beautifully. If you go to the company website, it says the lights appear brighter the farther away you are. This sounds impossible, but it really seems to be true. My husband frequently bikes at night, and the flashing mode is highly visible from very far away.

They truly do charge on indoor lights, but as the manufacturers say on their website, if the charge drops really low the unit may need intensive charging in direct sunlight for many hours. One of the two lights we bought arrived low on charge and didn't stay on for the duration of my husband's 45 minute ride, so he left it at home one day sitting inside a window in direct winter sunlight for six hours. The charge lasted longer, but not 45 minutes for the ride, but after another day of the semi-intensive charging the light now lasts all the way to work and home again. He leaves the lights in a window or near an incandescent bulb in the evening when he's not using them.

These are made of very sturdy construction and the band has high quality reflective tape all around. They also charge while they're in use. They weigh very little. These are exactly what we were looking for.
